/Position: Kubernetes Specialist – DevOps Team Lead

We are looking for a Kubernetes specialist who is passionate about DevOps and would enjoy taking the lead in enabling a strong DevOps culture within our business.

As an experienced Senior Kubernetes Engineer, you will be configuring, implementing and maintaining our Kubernetes Environment to advance our next generation application development platform.

/More about the role: 
As part of this role, you will take the lead of myairops DevOps, this includes improving our existing Kubernetes capability.

You will be leading in environment design, considering the architectural trade-offs including Scalability, Resiliency, High Availability, Storage and Security. Performing capacity planning and solution reviews related to the Kubernetes environment.

The DevOps Team Lead will also take ownership of the myairops Azure infrastructure, including scheduling and running maintenance, troubleshooting production issues, and evolving the platform with deployments, monitoring and optimisation.

/Primary Responsibilities include:

  • Technical lead for the DevOps function, to include leading on designated projects and driving improvements in our DevOps capability.
  • To mentor and support the development of DevOps engineers and other engineers looking for support in developing DevOps expertise.
  • Managing and maintaining the infrastructure (Microsoft Azure) to support CI/CD pipelines, ensuring that CI/CD pipelines are well designed, maintained and implemented.
  • Own and report on the availability and security of our environments.
  • Proposing, scheduling, and managing maintenance windows for Azure infrastructure and services.
  • Perform proof-of-concept work for new tools and components.
  • Turn proof-of-concept work into Production grade systems.
  • Perform regular 1-2-1s with team members, highlighting and supporting development opportunities.

/Skills and Experience required:

Essential:

  • Experience of running Kubernetes production workloads with business-critical applications
  • Expertise in supporting a Development team with CI/CD activities, including supporting release management and deployment management processes
  • Has a drive to own the Azure & AKS infrastructure, and drive improvements throughout to ensure that all myairops infrastructure is high performing and highly available
  • PowerShell, YAML
