What is SOC2?
Service Organizational Control (SOC) 2 is an independent detailed audit of an organizations controls against the Trust Criteria Framework. Covering the principles of security, availability, processing integrity, confidentiality and privacy. These cover all aspects of the service including people, processes and technology.
Developed by the AICPA, SOC 2 is specifically designed for service providers storing customer data in the cloud. That means SOC 2 applies to nearly every SaaS company, as well as any company that uses the cloud to store its customers’ information.
Achieving SOC2 compliance for the myairops flight and mobile crew app products is a fantastic achievement from the team. It provides an independent validation that our products and solutions are built with security best practice, to provide robust security controls and ensure that operationally the systems are run in a secure manner with appropriately trained security aware staff.
The independent audit was completed ahead of schedule, as despite a series of in-depth interviews on a wide variety of aspects of the system and our processes, the required evidence for the audit was generally readily available, which ultimately helped accelerate the completion of audit and for us to gain the compliance and to complete the activity early.
This achievement represents our continued investment and commitment to security. We understand the importance and trust that our customer’s place on our services to store and process sensitive data. Independent assessments such as this are a hugely important proof point for us that the control environment we have in place stands up to scrutiny.
